It’s All In A Song

It’s not February yet, but as a Romantic fiction writer, I’m always thinking about this thing called L-O-V-E.

Over the centuries, there’s been thousands (if not millions) of songs, poems, books, letters, plays, movies, etc. written about love.

 We, humans, question it.

Is it real? Will I find it?  Will it last? Can I live with it? Can I go on without it?

We embrace the quest to seek the answers to those questions enduring the joys and heartbreaks.

In this new life we’re all experiencing due to COVID-19, I’ve started having YouTube concerts at my house to pass the time.

Recently, I was listening to R&B hits from the 1960’s and 1970’s, especially those in the Motown era.

This particular night, I listened to Love songs because some of the greatest ones were written in that period.

We all know the famous classic “My Girl” that will stand the test of time.  (One of my best friends got to sing that song with The Temptations while I watched in awe).

The Temptations sang about finding love, having love, begging for love, losing love, and what love meant to them.

The Isley Brothers’ song, “Living for the Love of You,” talked about the yearnings of love, and “Hello, It’s Me” was about remembering love.

As I listened to the Temptations and the Isley Brothers, I thought every woman should have the kind of love they sang about in those songs.

When you have a moment, visit YouTube and explore some of the greatest songs about love.  Maybe it will help you get through these long days of enduring the pandemic lifestyle.

P.S. Don’t forget “A Love of Your Own” by Average White Band.

What’s your favorite song about L-O-V-E?
